Story (3.5 of 5 stars)
This story follows Molly as she finds her way back to her true self after loosing sight of who she really is due to a tragedy and then domestic violence. It is moving and powerful to watch the transformation that Molly makes to start believing she deserves to be happy again and has the power to stand up for herself and her daughter. Logan, the lead man, is sexy, strong and knows what he wants. The chemistry that develops between he and Molly is palpable. The drawback here is Molly’s self-defeating attitude is sometimes a bit overwhelming and her shifts into moments of power are a bit hard to comprehend given the intensity of the issues as they are presented.
Hotness Factor (3.5 of 5 stars)
There are some steamy moments in this novel, but the story is the main focal point, with only two primary intimate scenes. Those two were alluring and we enjoyed them. We also would have enjoyed a bit more. : -)
Overall (3.5 of 5 stars)
We really enjoyed Reflect Me and were excited to ready K.B. Webb’s 2nd book, Follow You Down (Reflect Me Book 2) (review here). The story kept us engaged and left us wanting more. The subject matter around domestic violence was challenging, as is expected, and we thought it was a thoughtful approach to helping people perhaps recognize signs in relationships around them as well as seeing a model of someone getting support and help to remove themselves from such a situation.
We recommend Reflect Me. It is a good read, will keep you engaged and it will likely move you as it did us. The romance part was engaging and the characters rich and enjoyable.
